According to the t-shirt, "This band plays music as well as Metallica writes novels."

The Rock Bottom Remainders is a rock and roll band consisting of published writers, most of them both amateur musicians and popular English-language book, magazine, and newspaper authors. The band took its self-mocking name from the publishing term remaindered book, a work for which the unsold remainder of the publisher's stock of copies is sold at a reduced price. Since their formation they have gained nearly $2 million for charity from their concerts.
The band members include Dave Barry, Stephen King, Amy Tan, Maya Angelou, Cynthia Heimel, Kathi Kamen Goldmark, Sam Barry, Ridley Pearson, Scott Turow, Joel Selvin, James McBride, Mitch Albom, Roy Blount Jr., Barbara Kingsolver, Robert Fulghum, Matt Groening, Tad Bartimus, Greg Iles, as well as professional musicians Josh Kelly on drums, and Erasmo Paulo on saxophone. Condition/Details: Bound in blindstamped quarter-leather with bright gilt embossing to elaborately decorated covers, this antique folio is a scarce illustrated history of the upstate New York county that contains the city of Rochester. The work is illustrated with many bright full- and double-page engravings. The volume shows external age/wear, with the front board, front free endpaper and frontispiece pages detached. The volume is lacking its spine cover. Several pages and signatures throughout the volume are detached. Lightly age-toned pages are clean. The book measures approximately 12" x 14" and contains 320 pages.

Notes: The volume is bound in half-leather with black cloth-covered boards, and feature raised bands and gilt lettering along the spine. The corners of the boards and the ends of the spine display some evidence of rubbing. This volume features more than one dozen color plates, some of which are double-page. The volume is also illustrated with many steel and wood engravings. The first fold-out illustration displays one tear at its crease, while a later fold-out illustration has one detached, but present, piece.
