The work is illustrated with many engravings on steel and wood. This volume features art and engravings from J. Saddler, E. Forberg, H. Salantin, G. C. Finden, A. Danse, L. Gallait, Rossi, R. A. Rajon, W. J. Linton, J. G. Smithwick, C. B. Birch, and many more. The volume shows external age/wear with rubbing to the surfaces, corners and edges of the boards. Condition/Details: Bound in marbled paper-covered boards with a leather spine featuring a stamped title, this antique volume is a scarce description of various routes which were explored under the direction of the Secretary of War, including the reports on the route from the Rio Grande and the Pimas as well as the route lying between the mouths of the San Pedro and Gila Rivers. The work is illustrated with many plates, graphs and maps, some of which fold out. Many of the full-page illustrations appear in color. The title page states that this volume is from the second session of the 33rd Congress, and is Ex. Doc. number 91. The volume shows external age/wear with rubbing to the corners, edges and surfaces of the boards and spine, and is bound with lightly age-toned pages which display light foxing. The leather of the spine displays some rubbing, with "Vol. II." still visible. The book measures approximately 9 1/2" x 11 3/4" and contains more than 500 pages.

Notes: Bound in quarter leather with brown cloth-covered boards, this antique set is the scarce Memorial Edition of the works of Thomas Bewick (August 12, 1753 – November 8, 1828), an English wood engraver and ornithologist. This collection includes "The History of British Birds," originally published from 1797-1804. This was Bewick's great achievement, with which his name is inseparably associated (work contained in first two volumes). "A General History of Quadrupeds" makes up Volume III, "The Fables of Aesop" Volume IV, and "A Memoir" Volume V. This set is one of a limited edition of 750. The work is profusely illustrated after the woodcuts of Thomas Bewick. These ex-library volumes show external age/wear with all volumes displaying black tape along their spines. The volumes contain antique library bookplates on their endpapers, card pockets attached to their rear endpapers, lightly age-toned pages and half-title pages with library stamps. The leaf containing the half-title page and the limitation page of volume one is detached but present. The books measure approximately 7" x 10 1/4".

Title: Helter Skelter: The True Story of The Manson Murders

Condition/Details: Bound half cloth with blue paper-covered boards, this stated first edition is complete with dust jacket and is signed by Vincent Bugliosi. Bugliosi has signed the title page: "With my best personal wishes, Vincent Bugliosi." The murders carried out by members of Charles Manson's "Family" were partly inspired by Manson's prediction of "Helter Skelter," which he believed was an apocalyptic war that would arise from tension over racial relations between blacks and whites. "The 'chimerical vision,' as it was termed by the court that heard Manson's appeal from his conviction for the Tate-LaBianca killings, involved reference to music of The Beatles and to the New Testament's Book of Revelation."
