Condition/Details: Bound in marbled paper-covered boards with three-quarter leather, this antique volume provides a history of Napoleon Bonaparte's surrender to Captain Maitland. Rear Admiral Sir Frederick Lewis Maitland, KCB (7 September 1777 30 November 1839) was an officer in the Royal Navy during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. He rose to the rank of rear admiral and held a number of commands. The most famous event of his career occurred when Napoleon Bonaparte surrendered to him aboard HMS Bellerophon, marking the final end of the Napoleonic Wars. The work is illustrated with a fold-out map frontispiece. The volume shows some advanced external age/wear, with the boards separated along the external gutters, remaining attached by the string bindings. The boards show some moisture indications and most of the spine cover is lacking. The text block is securely bound with lightly age-toned pages, with occasional foxing. The fold-out map frontispiece shows some wear, with the bottom left panel torn along the right crease. The map is partially separating from the binding. The book measures approximately 5.5" x 8.5" and contains 248 pages.

Condition/Details: Bound in decorative navy cloth with gilt lettering and design, and photographs of minstrel performers in blackface on the front cover, this antique volume is an author-signed history of minstrel shows. The work is inscribed and signed by the author on the front free endpaper. The work is illustrated with many photographs and drawings related to minstrel shows. The volume shows external age/wear, with rubbing to the cloth along the extremities and the internal hinges showing separation. The binding shows some play, with lightly age-toned pages, with no marginalia or markings present. The book measures approximately 8.25" x 10.25" and contains 366 pages.

Details/Condition: This lot features two pre-revolutionary Chinese glazed ceramic erotic collectibles. The first item is a cylindrical vase, likely used as a brush holder, with a nude woman who is posing in a pond. The second item features a yellow erotic vase, with a hand-painted man and woman making love. On the opposite side of the vase are Chine calligraphy. This vase has the pottery mark on the bottom, as shown in the image accompanying this lot. This lot is one of several featuring Chinese artwork and collectible items throughout this catalog. This collection generally shows well, with some light external age/wear.
