Lot 7113

$120
This lot offers a unique opportunity to purchase a very large collection of agricultural, horticultural and food-related reference materials. Included are approximately 33,000 individual bulletins of scholarly writings published by the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva, NY, dating back to the earliest years of the station in the 1880s.

Over the years individual copies of these bulletins have been available for sale at the station. Unfortunately this practice is no longer viable given recent staffing and storage space shortages. Most are in very good condition and have never been circulated.

These publications are grouped in different series (bulletins / technical bulletins / circulars, etc.) and those series consist of individually titled bulletins or reports. The Series are listed below along with an approximate range of issues available in each.

Bulletins
Published: (1885-1970, no.1-831)
Available: no. 2, 25-27, 32-826 possibly incomplete
(some are also "New Series")

Popular Bulletins (same topic & no. as Bulletins, but abridged for general public)
Available: no. 120-505 possibly incomplete

Circulars
Published: (1895-1943, no. 1-197)
Available: no. 27-183 possibly incomplete

Technical Bulletins
Published: (1906-1949, no.1-288)
Available: no. 6-250s possibly incomplete

Annual Reports
Available: no. 1-100 possibly incomplete

Each individual bulletin number is separately packaged in storage. Per package there are typically 1-50 copies of that bulletin, and probably 20 copies on average, per title. We estimate approximately 1,650 individual bulletin titles or reports indicated above. If each bulletin or report averages 20 copies, the total would be approximately 33,000 items.

Shipping is not available for this collection; it must be packed and picked up at the station in Geneva, NY. Staff at the station will coordinate with the successful bidder to set an appointment time to access and remove the collection.
