Condition/Details: Bound in blindstamped green cloth with bright gilt embossing, this antique volume is a scarce collection of poetry by New Hampshire author Augusta Cooper Bristol. This is a Civil War era book of poetry that deals with Christian themes, nature, and also contains a collection of war poems at the end, some dedicated to individual officers. There are poems to abolitionist orator William Lloyd Garrison, to Massachusetts, and to Mount Cardigan (NH). Condition/Details: Bound in vellum spine with bright decorative paper boards, this volume is a scarce collection of poems by Merrill Moore (1903 - 1957), American psychiatrist and Tennessee poet, best known to literary history as an extremely facile writer of sonnets and as an influential literary networker. The 14 poems by Moore in this collection appear with facing Interlingua translation by Alexander Gode (1906-1970), a German-American linguist, translator and the driving force behind the creation of that auxiliary language (developed to combine a simple, mostly regular grammar with a vocabulary common to the widest possible range of languages, making it unusually easy to learn, at least for those whose native languages were sources of Interlingua's vocabulary and grammar).

This is number 77 of 400 copies. The title page bears the signatures of both the author and translator. The work is illustrated with decorations by Michael Morrow. The volume shows very light external age/wear, and is solidly bound with clean pages. This unpaginated book measures approximately 5" x 7 1/4". Condition/Details: Bound in red cloth with bright gilt lettering to front cover, this volume is a scarce copy of the first edition of the Scottish poet and novelist's first book. MacBeth was a member of "The Group," an informal group of poets who met in London from the mid 1950s to the mid 1960s. This is number 65 of 150 copies. The volume shows external age/wear, with a damp stain to bottom of front cover, and is solidly bound with clean pages. The book measures approximately 7" x 9" and contains 25 pages.
