The appraisal staff at National Book Auctions
are trained in the most current appraisal methods, including Uniform
Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) compliancy.
USPAP has been around since 1987 but until the Pension Protection
Act of 2006, the IRS did not expressly refer to it or any one
particular professional association.
For
the first time, federal tax law made specific reference to appraisal
standards for appraisals and this is now the IRS standard. USPAP
training for National Book Auctions staff was provided by the
Appraisers Association of America.
