National Book Auctions is pleased to announce that we will be spending September, 2006 through April, 2007, selling approximately 100,000 books and related fixtures and furnishings from the former Ambassador University campus library in Big Sandy, Texas. The auctions will take place on location at ALERT Academy (approximately 2 miles east of Big Sandy, Texas on Route 80) and will usually be organized into Friday evening and Saturday afternoon pairs of auctions. Each typical weekend will include approximately 800 lots, containing nearly 10,000 books.
This library is a complete university campus facility with full Library of Congress categorization. Over the three-month period, we will systematically move through the library, following the categorizations. The library contains a high percentage of antique books including many landmark texts of significant value. We will be grouping the books into boxlots, small groups and individual titles to create the lots for each catalog. This page will updated with auction dates as they are scheduled. Absentee bids may be registered via email or fax, and through eBay. If you prefer not to use eBay, we have a form we will fax to you for absentee bidding, please send along a fax number and we'll begin the registration process. Remember to allow enough time for registration and receipt of your bids before auction start. We request a credit card number for the registration, and will authorize it for an amount equal to half the total of your bids, on the morning of the auction. If you like, we can also bill that same card at the end of the auction for your successful bids. To bid on the lots using eBay's website, you can look us up under userid 'cnybookauctions', or click here to visit our seller page on eBay and view the lots as they become available for bidding (approximately 10 days prior to each auction date). There is a 2.5% buyer’s premium addition for absentee bids (total 17.5%), 5% through eBay (total 20%). Thank you.
