Details/Condition: Bound in their original blindstamped burgundy cloth boards with gilt embossing, this antique botany set is a very scarce landmark work. The work is illustrated with hundreds of color plates of fern varieties, with most or all of the original tissue plates in place. The volumes show some external age/wear including clear tape reinforcing to some spines and edges, and are solidly bound with hinge reinforcing, they have bright pages and library markings.
